Collection: Sanchez McGrath

Sanchez McGrath, originally from Atlantic City, New Jersey, has spent a good part of his life in the DMV Area. He is an illustrator and street artist who typically works with inks, pencils and paint. His pieces are tiny, intimate portraits on USPS High Priority 228 Labels.

McGrath uses a figure ground style, similar to that of his everyday profession as an architect. He creates the contours and islands of the portrait subject to help establish a clear visual hierarchy for the viewers’ attention. Each drawing is made by hand.
