Collection: Adam Mele
Adam Mele (b. 1983) is a DC area self-taught artist working mainly in acrylic and oil paints on canvas. Inspiration for his work comes from a wide variety of places, including Don Martin, Mike Kelley, pre-Colombian figurines, Medieval illuminated manuscripts, Facebook groups dedicated to people who keep raccoons as pets and low budget cinema. His work has most recently focused on playing with the line between the figurative and the abstract. In addition to painting, Adam works as an ESL instructor at two local universities and an over the phone Indonesian-English interpreter.
