Collection: Elizabeth Saloka

Elizabeth Saloka was born in Seoul, South Korea and adopted at 2. She began painting rocks a decade ago. She is drawn to rocks with shapes and textures that remind her of the products and foods she encountered in daily life in Minnesota, and later in New York. Saloka is inspired by an initial feeling towards a raw form. Over the course of painting the form, she becomes intimately connected to the nuances of it, the wonky angles and minor imperfections guiding her as she works to transform it into the initial vision it inspired in her mind.
