Le Dernier Cri is a French artists’ publishing house that generates beautiful, intense, limited-edition books, prints, and animations.  Drawing upon underground comics and “art brut” (outsider) artists, and emerging out of the Paris punk scene of the 80’s and 90’s, Le Dernier Cri specializes in silkscreen printing that results in richly coloured, sensuous, and highly detailed surfaces coupled with imagery that is both seductive and alarming.Director Pakito Bolino runs a busy screen printing workshop at La Friche Studios,
Marseille, churning out a prolific catalog of books featuring work by artists
from Europe, America, Japan, South America, and Africa. Born in 1993 from the 80’s french underground graphic movement, Le Dernier Cri produced more than 300 silk-screened books in 20 years while building an international network between artists.Galactic Panther curator Eli Pollard states, “I had the opportunity to meet Pakito in his studio while traveling overseas with students. I was struck by the way the international artists he chooses to work with often reflect the city he lives in in many ways. The artwork is raw and beautiful, not unlike a colorful, tagged ATM that was freshly smashed in a riot just before the sunrise in Marseille.”
